AdWords is Changing
With AdWords changing, we've taken the time to look at all the new AdWords has to offer and what it could mean for your business. Let's review the changes together.
What Will We See With The Google Adwords Change?
Yes my friends Google AdWords is changing. In my view it’s long overdue. As all fellow PPC professionals out there will know, we spend a lot of time looking at Google AdWords.
This is a familiar site that we have to look at. It’s kind of an interactive spreadsheet. It’s a very basic design that can sometimes get you down on a Wednesday afternoon. But all this is about to change. Google is finally giving AdWords the uplift it so desperately needs. The last time the interface was updated was all the way back in 2008. Since then we’ve had 2 football world cups, Ant and Dec have won 8 Best TV presenter awards and Justin Bieber happened.
Will It Be More Useful?
In terms of what it provides, what information it gives you and what you can do will stay the same. However from the images that Google have released it suggests that comparing data and understanding where traffic comes from will be easier.
At the moment it can be quite hard to find all of the important information that you need when optimising PPC campaigns. But this suggests that it will be all nicely presented to you with colour and swish looking graphs. I’m getting excited just thinking about it (I do have other hobbies by the way).
The new look should clear out the clutter, making it easier for you to navigate. It will also allow you to focus AdWords around your objectives not just the features that AdWords provides. The new design will also mean it will work across devices, meaning that you will be able to check your campaigns easily with your mobile and tablet.
Google have also stated ‘Today, more Google searches take place on smartphones than on computers, globally’. Google appreciate that times are trying to make it easier for businesses to reach out to their customers. The new AdWords should make it easier to create mobile ad campaigns and display advertising.
When Can I Use It?
Let’s all just calm down. I know by now you’re on the edge of your seat and most definitely physically vibrating with excitement, but let’s just take a step back. This isn’t going to be ready until the end of 2017. In fact Google haven’t even finished building it. For a few lucky Advertising companies early releases will be provided by Google, but for the rest of us it’s a year’s wait I’m afraid.
