Zelst is a leading digital marketing agency and is proud to be one of the longest-established and experienced agencies in the North of England. Due to the steady growth of our agency, our SEO team is expanding, and we are looking for an experienced SEO Strategist to join our team.

The Role
The role of SEO Strategist is to create and implement creative and effective SEO strategies for our clients, ensuring that their objectives are met. This role involves client and prospect liaison and assisting the Head of SEO with the day-to-day management and mentoring of the SEO Team.
Reporting to the Head of SEO, you will also build strong relationships with: -
- The Technical Team
- The Paid Team
- The Content and Social Media Team
- The Senior Management Team
- The Administration and Finance Team
Key Responsibilities of an SEO Strategist
- Assist the Head of SEO to manage, mentor and motivate the SEO team
- Effectively communicate SEO strategy to our clients and prospects
- Be involved in regular client strategy review meetings and provide feedback to the SEO team and Heads of Departments
- Create and implement SEO strategies for our clients and prospects
- Maintain and develop excellent professional relationships with our clients to aid in achieving their objectives and client retention
- Carry out client site crawls, identifying and investigating issues and assign necessary corrective workload to be carried out
- Create gap analysis reports
- Analysing client campaign success and feeding back to the Head of SEO along with recommendations
- Creation and management of client website migration plans
- Link building – identifying areas for outreach, checking links and creating content for links
- Carry out internal SEO training for the Zelst team as required to ensure that the SEO team and other colleagues have the necessary SEO skills and knowledge to carry out their roles to the highest standards
- Assist with the preparation of monthly and ad-hoc client reports, ensuring that they are timely and accurate
- Carry out technical SEO site audits as and when required
- Be involved in the on-boarding of new clients
- Assist with the preparation of client presentations and pitches and participate as necessary
- Assist with carrying out competitor analysis and identify areas of interest or concern for Zelst, including offering solutions and new ideas to keep us ‘Fresh’ in the Search Marketing Sector
- Proactively contribute to the team with fresh ideation and innovative strategies
- Be responsive to constructive feedback
- Ensure accurate completion of time sheets
Key skills, experience and attributes
- Minimum of 3+ years’ experience in an SEO role
- Excellent knowledge of SEO best practices and demonstrable experience implementing these
- Experience in building client relationships and customer service
- Experience in training and coaching team members
- Strong communication skills – both written and verbal
- Highly organised and the ability to multi-task and prioritse
- Ability to deliver a high level of customer service
- Good level of Microsoft and Google Suite skills (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Docs and Sheets)
- Excellent level of attention to detail

Place of work
The role of SEO Strategist is an office-based role, with the possibility of also working from home.
Salary
£35k to £40k per annum, depending on experience and skill set.
Holiday Allowance
25 days plus bank holidays, increasing to 30 days plus bank holidays with length of service.
